Gary Lynn (DOC #633060) appeared before the Committee on Parole June 10, 2025. Lynn is serving 15 years on consecutive sentences stemming from convictions including carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Warden Quentin Douglas and facility staff told the panel Lynn worked as a trustee and maintained good conduct in custody. Lynn acknowledged his offenses and told the panel he had been at a low point in life when the crimes occurred and apologized. He said he had acted in ways he now regretted.
Panel members reviewed sentencing and appeal history in the record, which noted the victim’s lifelong needs for counseling and that the plea agreement had resulted in dismissal of additional charges. Panelists commented that Lynn had not completed sex‑offender treatment; transcripts show the specialized program had not been available at the facility where he was held.
Given the “heinous nature” of the offense against a juvenile, victim opposition and the lack of required treatment, the panel voted to deny parole. The chair said the decision was based on “the heinous nature of the crime to a juvenile, the extensive opposition of law enforcement, all law enforcement, and victim's opposition.” The board recorded the denial and closed the hearing.
