Parole denied for Troy Weber amid victim opposition and lack of treatment completion

The Committee on Parole convened June 10, 2025, to hear Troy Weber’s case (DOC #784056). Weber was serving a six‑year sentence with parole eligibility on June 10, 2025, for a conviction of molestation of a juvenile out of Webster Parish.

Family members spoke on Weber’s behalf, including his mother, sister and father, describing family support and plans for employment and housing. Members of the victim’s family, including David Miller and his wife Candace, appeared via Zoom and spoke in opposition to Weber’s release. David Miller told the panel: “He’s attracted to children. When he violated my daughter, he was twice her age, 24, and she was 12. Make no mistake. He’s a predator.” Mrs. Miller said the offense had “ruined my family” and urged the panel to deny release.

Weber told the panel he had completed some classes available at his facility and worked as a trustee; he said he had taken mental‑health and parenting modules but had not completed specialized offender treatment. Panel members noted strong law‑enforcement opposition on the record and the victim family’s statements.

The panel unanimously voted to deny parole, citing the victim’s age at the time of the offense, law‑enforcement opposition, and a lack of offender‑specific treatment. Chair Cheryl Renontza summarized the decision: “You haven’t had appropriate treatment, in my opinion, to give you the tools not to reoffend in this way. My vote today is gonna be to deny you for all today.” The board concluded the hearing and recorded a unanimous denial.
