Stella Pieske of ERICD said the program is the state’s first municipal curbside composting pilot and that pickup will be weekly for enrolled homes. The rollout target date is September 18, with starter‑kit drop‑offs planned in late August or early September. Council members expressed support; the council received the item for the record (a “receive and file” motion) and encouraged residents to sign up.
Councilors and staff discussed outreach: Explore Bristol, the Chamber of Commerce and town communications will share program details. The council made no budget appropriation at the meeting; the item was received and filed.
