The Crown Point Board of Public Works and Safety on March 5 approved a series of contracts for city events and entertainment and deferred consideration of proposed concrete work at Bulldog Park until the next meeting on March 28.
Adam, a city facilities staff member, presented an agreement for a venue-service arrangement to host a large ticketed concert at Bulldog Park and said the terms mirror a previously approved agreement. Alex in the legal department told the board legal had reviewed the contract and recommended approval. The board approved the venue agreement as presented.
Separately, the board approved a $300 contract for Sensational Science to provide DJ services for a St. Patrick’s Day event at city facilities and approved retaining Pipe Productions as DJ for the 2025 New Year’s Eve ball drop at $5,540, both motions carried without recorded opposition. Adam told the board the city had used the vendors previously and staff received positive feedback on past performances.
Adam also asked to defer award of concrete work to expand Bulldog Park because additional proposals were not yet available; the board agreed to defer to the next meeting and staff said their goal is to complete procurement before the city’s busy event season.
Background: Several event agreements follow prior-year terms and vendors that previously provided services; staff emphasized continuity and public feedback in recommending returning vendors. The Bulldog Park concrete expansion was deferred so staff can present additional proposals.
The board directed staff to return with the Bulldog Park concrete proposals at the next meeting and to proceed with contract execution for approved entertainment vendors.
