The Butte-Silver Bow Judiciary Committee on July 23 moved a resolution of intent to alter the boundaries of the city–county solid waste special district to include Homestake Meadows to final reading. Chairwoman Thatcher voiced a question about a reference in the resolution's whereas clause to "section 1.2 c of the city county Of Buena Montana's charter" that appeared to require approval from Walkerville; staff identified the reference as a probable template misprint.

Director Neri told the committee the Walkerville language likely appeared because the most recent similar change had involved Walkerville and that the current item applies to Homestake Meadows. County Attorney Matt Enruth and Commissioner Morgan said the resolution could be moved to final reading and amended on the council floor to correct the language without delaying the timetable. Commissioner Morgan noted that a floor amendment by line item is possible to preserve timing.

The committee voted to move the resolution (Resolution 2025-31) to final reading; the motion passed 4 to 0. Staff said the timing concern was to ensure the boundary change and associated fee-schedule adjustments could be in place for November scheduling.
