The La Mesa City Council approved a package of board and commission appointments and adopted two ordinances during its July 22 meeting.
Nominations read by the mayor included candidates for the Arts & Culture Commission, Design Review Board, Environmental Sustainability Commission, La Mesa Community Parking Commission, Mobility Commission and the Personnel Appeal Board. The council voted to confirm the slate; the minutes record the motion to approve the nominations as carrying with all council members voting yes.
The confirmed appointments named in the meeting record included (as read aloud): Arts & Culture Commission — Lisonbee, Lindsey, and Bridal Morrow; Design Review Board — Patrick Del Toro (de la Torre); Environmental Sustainability Commission — Michael Burton; La Mesa Community Parking Commission — Stacy Turner; Mobility Commission — Mike Camillieria and Emma McLeese; Personnel Appeal Board — Jocelyn Watkins. For the Planning Commission appointments the council selected David Harris and Tristan Reed after the votes on community services nominees were resolved.
On ordinances, the council unanimously approved an ordinance renaming the Community Services Department and Commission and updating supervisory responsibility for landscape and park maintenance. The council also adopted an ordinance amending Chapter 17.12 of the La Mesa Municipal Code to adjust the schedule of sewer service charges for fiscal years 2026 and 2027; staff noted those charges “will be in effect in 30 days from adoption.” Both ordinances passed on second reading with all council members voting yes.
These actions were taken under consent and ordinance calendar procedures; no extended debate was recorded on the appointments or the ordinances at the July 22 meeting.
