The Wenatchee City Council on July 24 voted to reject all bids for the 2025 damaged-luminaire replacement project (City Project No. SW25-01) after staff reported nine bids were received, three were nonresponsive and six contained calculation errors.
Project engineer Jesse King told council the lowest bid contained a unit-price calculation error that reduced the total by about $20,000; given the number of bid irregularities staff recommended rejecting all bids and rebidding the project. The council unanimously approved the motion to reject the bids; staff said there is no immediate time constraint and the project will be rebid.
No contract award or schedule was adopted at the July 24 meeting; the rejection allows staff to correct bid documents and re-open procurement.
