Peter Boyse, an administrative staff member, reported to the city council on July 23, 2025, that June sales tax receipts for the city totaled $69,377 and the quarter closed at $199,000. He said gambling-tax receipts for June were $107,993 and the quarter totaled $408,000. Boyse also provided an update on a Department of Commerce scanning grant. Staff found documents that were missed or not legible in the scanned set; he said staff expects to finish identifying items that need to be re-scanned by mid-August and that the contractor is under contract to rescan the materials at no additional charge. Boyse told the council the budget advisory committee will meet the following day at 3:30 p.m. to begin work on the 2026 budget, reviewing the first two quarters of 2025 and discussing a budget calendar. He invited questions but no council member requested further action during the meeting. These items were presented as staff reports; council approved the consent agenda earlier in the meeting and did not take separate votes on the revenue figures or the scanning-rescan plan during the July 23 session.
