Council member Boyle told the La Center City Council on July 23, 2025, that a traffic crash at Timmins and La Center Road last Friday injured family members and raised questions about whether safety changes are needed at that intersection. "There was some things said about it that, you know, a roundabout could have prevented that," Boyle said. Boyle said family members were involved in the collision and that a relative sustained a serious injury: "my kids were in my accident... my kid's grandma, she broke her neck, so she'll be dealing with that for a while." She said she did not fault either driver but asked the council and public to weigh safety alongside concerns about changing the town's character. No formal motion or direction to staff was made during the meeting. Council discussion noted the trade-off between preserving small-town character and making traffic-safety investments; council members offered thanks to first responders who assisted at the scene. Council member Casper and others noted community safety and urged attention to traffic planning. This was a discussion item only at the July 23 meeting; council members did not vote on traffic improvements or refer a specific project for design, funding or engineering during the session.
