City Clerk Christina Scipione told the Apple Valley City Council on July 24 that the city is accepting applications to fill a two‑year vacancy on its Cemetery Advisory Committee, with applications due Aug. 1. "We are currently accepting applications for a spot on our cemetery advisory committee. Those applications are due on August 1, and it is a 2 year term to fill a term that was, recently vacated by a former committee member," Scipione said. Scipione said application materials and committee information are available on the city website home page. Council members asked whether the committee’s seat required residency; Scipione confirmed that industry‑related applicants need not live in Apple Valley. Mayor Hoopall and councilors took no formal action; the announcement was informational and staff will review applications for appointment.
