The Maryville Redevelopment Commission on July 22 approved a professional services agreement with Development Economic Finance Consulting LLC for annual tax-abatement compliance review and fee verification.
Angie, a commission staff member, told commissioners she had been working with the company "to be in compliance and prepare a report to present to RDC and counsel on an annual basis to, ensure there's compliance on any awarded tax abatements and that we're receiving our, 15% deduction fee." The basic services cost is $14,250, she said.
Commissioners had no questions on the scope; the commission took a roll-call vote and approved the contract 4-0. Staff will monitor the consultant's work to produce annual compliance reports and to verify that the 15% deduction fee tied to applicable abatements is collected and remitted.
The agreement covers the stated compliance services; commissioners requested no additional immediate direction during the meeting.
