The Lawrence City Utilities Board approved a notice of award to SLB Pipe Solutions LLC for the Fort Harrison capacity improvements phase 3 project and authorized a construction agreement and notice to proceed for the 70 First Street Lehi Station basin rehabilitation project to Performance Pipelining Inc.
The utility superintendent told the board the Fort Harrison award includes a $300,000 contingency and a bid total of $1,697,675. The utilities received two bids; the other bid from Brackney Inc. totaled $2,000,745 with the same contingency. The superintendent said the city engineer, Clark Deats, reviewed both bids and recommended awarding the Fort Harrison contract to SLB Pipe Solutions LLC.
The board also approved a construction agreement with Performance Pipelining Inc. for the 70 First Street Lehi Station basin rehabilitation in the amount of $805,797.76 and authorized the notice to proceed. The superintendent said the contract time will commence in June 2025 and that substantial completion is scheduled for December 2025. The superintendent further noted the board previously addressed this lift station project at the April 22 Utilities Board meeting.
Board members moved and seconded the motions and the chair called each vote in the affirmative; the superintendent presented the bids and the engineer's recommendation during the agenda item.
