The Lawrence City Safety Board on May 22 approved an initial leave of absence request for an employee and an extension included in the same submission.

Human-resources representative Miss Jackson said a letter regarding the leave had been provided to board members and that "due to the sensitive nature" full details were not included in the public meeting materials. Miss Jackson said the employee was aware of and had approved the letter.

Board member Lawrence moved approval of the leave and its extension; Mr. Miller seconded the motion and the board approved it.

No additional details about the employee, duration or medical or administrative reasons were read into the public record at the meeting.
