The Board of Supervisors set a public hearing for Aug. 26 to consider forming a revenue-sharing district for the Bertha Farms project after staff reported receipt of a petition and accompanying map.
County staff said the petition in the board packet shows 51.9 percent of landowners representing 53.5304 percent of the landmass in the area have signed. Staff noted that the process requires three advertisements and a public hearing as next steps if the board wishes to proceed. The board approved scheduling the hearing on Aug. 26 to allow time for required advertising and public notice.
Staff said the map and a spreadsheet with tax-rate calculations are included in the board packet. No final decision to form the district was made on July 22; the hearing will be the next formal step in the process.
