Treasurer Gwen Williams told the Board of Supervisors on July 22 the county’s consolidated account balance was $82,380,298 as of June 30, including a general fund balance of $52,364,933.
Williams said combined collections for straight real estate and personal property taxes are averaging about 94.3 percent, up approximately two percentage points from the previous quarter. She said public service corporation taxes are collecting at about 99 percent. Williams cautioned that personal property collections lag real estate and that the office will begin warrants in debt and other collection steps to boost revenue before the next billing cycle.
On the 2025 tax cycle, Williams said her office was preparing mortgage-company and escrow-account updates and was waiting for the commissioner to finish closing books; she estimated bills could be mailed around Oct. 1 if the process begins in mid-to-late August.
