Staff described King as a local instructor with roughly 12 years of teaching experience (and over 20 years playing) offering beginning through advanced lessons on acoustic, bass and electric guitar. Staff said the lessons will be one-on-one rather than group instruction; the instructor lacks a private studio and will use High Dive as a mutual community space. Parks staff will provide an additional staff member to be present during lessons.
Staff said this is a pilot to test public demand and that they will monitor enrollment and program interest. The board moved and approved the MOU by voice vote.
