Commission asks estates office to demand action on two probate claims, sets 30-day deadlines

In the estate of Clarence Keith Miller, a claimant, identified in the minutes as George Miller, reported he paid funeral expenses and filed a claim that has not been addressed. The commission voted to instruct the estate’s office to send a reminder to the estate administrator giving 30 days to address the claim, after which the matter may return to the commission for further action.
In the estate of Jeffrey Jones, one of the heirs, Ethel Logan, petitioned to remove the administrator for failure to take action and for filing deficiencies. Commissioners voted to instruct the estates office to notify the administrator to cure filing deficiencies within 30 days; if the administrator does not address the deficiencies, the commission said it will consider removal proceedings.
Both motions passed by voice vote. The actions are procedural directions to the estates office to obtain timely responses from administrators and do not themselves remove or appoint any fiduciaries.
