Animal services requests part‑time kennel assistant to keep officers on calls

"By adding this part time kennel assistant, we'll generally ensure that we have enough coverage every single day to where the officers can mainly focus on running their calls," he said.
Parish proposed starting the position at a Grade 5.1 scale with an annual salary of $13,882.88 and said he would prioritize the position over cameras for a new building if budget constraints forced choices. "I'm willing to sacrifice those cameras for the first year in order to have relief for my staff," he told the commission.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about facilities and camera needs; Parish said the position would also assist the new shelter facility once it opens. No formal vote occurred; the item remained in the budget review process.
