Shelton discussed membership and outreach with the Oklahoma Route 66 Association, including a proposal to set local dues at $66 and an existing dues level of $49 for state membership. The board heard that the wraps would last “8 to 10 years,” according to Shelton, but the cost figures quoted in the meeting record were unclear. The transcript included an imprecise spoken estimate; the board was told that if the association grant is not successful, other funding options would be pursued.
No formal board action or grant award was taken during this meeting. Board members were asked to consider partnership opportunities and potential sponsorship for Route 66 programming.
