Board sets superintendent interviews for March 15, debates interview length and optional candidate video
Summary
The board set interviews for superintendent candidates on March 15 at 5 p.m., but trustees debated whether 15 minutes was sufficient, proposed extending to 30 minutes, and discussed an optional 5–6 minute video from applicants. The board approved the longer window and an optional video submission deadline.

The Terrebonne Parish School Board on March 8 finalized interview logistics for applicants to succeed the superintendent and debated whether the time allotted per candidate was adequate. The board set interviews for Tuesday, March 15, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Boardroom.
Board members described an initial plan that allowed 15 minutes for candidate remarks and 15 minutes for questions and discussion. Several trustees said that total was too brief for a position of this scope. Board member Matt Ford proposed that candidates be given more time and suggested an optional 5‑ to 6‑minute pre‑recorded video introducing themselves and outlining priorities, to be provided in advance so trustees could review candidates before the live interviews.
Dr. Deborah Yarbrough, supervisor of personnel, advised the board that 30 minutes was a reasonable interview window. After debate the board approved a revised schedule allotting 30 minutes per applicant for board‑directed questions and closing remarks and accepted optional candidate videos to be submitted by 3 p.m. on Monday, March 14; the procedural motion to set the interviews and these parameters passed at the meeting with two recorded objections.
Board members raised practical concerns about the compressed timeline between notice and the interviews and whether all application packets and supplemental materials had been circulated to trustees; several members urged staff to ensure each applicant's full packet was provided to the board in advance.
Ending: The board approved the interview date and the interview format and asked staff to circulate candidate materials and any optional videos among trustees before the March 15 session.
