The Finance, Insurance and Section 16 Lands Committee adopted the Louisiana compliance questionnaire required for the annual audit and received a sales-tax collections update showing a 2.91% increase for May comparing fiscal year 2024 to 2025.
Rebecca Brof (identified in committee remarks as the chief financial officer) told the committee the questionnaire is an annual requirement for the auditors and certifies that the board followed applicable state and federal fiscal requirements during the year under audit. The committee moved the resolution to adopt the questionnaire and, hearing no objections, the chair declared the motion passed.
Later in the meeting, Miss Klingman presented the monthly sales-tax update for May and said collections were up 2.91% year-over-year. Committee members asked no questions and received the report.
Both items were recommended to the full board as part of the committee’s consent and reporting items.
