Board names Independence High football field for longtime coach Charlie Baglio

Baglio’s family, including his wife, children and grandchildren, were referenced in remarks the board read from a North Shore media team biography included in the meeting record.
A motion to dedicate the field was made and seconded; the chair called for a vote and announced the motion carried. A board member reported the action complies with the district’s current naming policy.
Board members who spoke called the naming a fitting recognition of Baglio’s impact on student-athletes and the community.
