Board amends transfer policy; directs handbook detail on transfer eligibility

"So the idea here…is that there's nothing that restricts a student from applying for a transfer…anybody can try can apply for a transfer," a staff member said, and added that the handbook will flesh out steps (for example, placing a student on a nine‑week probation if attendance or discipline issues arise).
Board members also clarified that students who had been granted diversity transfers before a unitary‑status court order are grandfathered "in the feeder pattern until graduation." The board approved the amendment to reference the student handbook and then voted to adopt the package of related policy revisions (items a–h) as amended; the motion passed as recorded in the transcript.
