The Tangipahoa Parish School Board reviewed financial reports at its July 15 meeting, including an accounts payable check register for May 1–31 totaling $21,869,873.32 and budget‑to‑actual comparison schedules through May 31 for the general fund and all funds. Finance staff reported the district used a more conservative budgeting approach — budgeting revenues conservatively and expenditures conservatively — and expects to finish the year in a stronger position than the numbers currently indicate after audit. The 2026 budget was not presented at the meeting because changes were still being finalized; staff said it will be brought to the first August meeting to begin the required public inspection period. No board action was required on the reports; members were invited to ask questions of the finance director and to email follow-ups.
