The Bossier Parish School Board on July 17 formally introduced two new administrators appointed by Superintendent Jason Rowland.
Why it matters: Leadership changes at school and middle school levels affect day-to-day school operations, discipline, learning programs and school culture for students and staff.
Rowland presented Crystal Marshall as the new assistant principal at Rusheon Middle School (referred to in remarks as Russian/Russian Middle), noting her 20 years in education, an undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech, a master’s and an alternate certification through ITeach Louisiana. Marshall thanked her family and the regional principal who hired her into the district in 2015 and said she was “full circle” returning to Rusheon.
Rowland then introduced Seth Stoll as the new principal at Airline High School. Rowland summarized Stoll’s education (Ouachita Baptist University and Arkansas State University) and his years of teaching and coaching, including a leadership role at Airline beginning in 2020. Stoll thanked his family and colleagues, said the expectations for Airline are “high,” and described focusing on “trust, care, and commitment” for staff and students.
No formal board vote on these hires was recorded in the meeting transcript; Rowland presented them as appointees and the board offered congratulations. The board also announced a separate recognition for Superintendent Rowland, who will receive a National School Public Relations Association honor in Washington, D.C., next week.
