Council awards contract for recreation center office renovation and family changing room improvements

The city council authorized the mayor to enter into a contract with Millstone Management Group Inc. to renovate the recreation center’s upstairs office area and complete a family changing room project. Why it matters: council and staff said the work will create private space for staff, additional workspace and a family changing facility that also serves as an accessible changing area for people who need assistance. Council passed Ordinance 49 after staff said the project was budgeted and ready to proceed. Next steps: staff will coordinate construction scheduling with the recreation center’s annual shutdown, with pool and building closures planned in late August for maintenance, and oversee contractor work under the contract.
