County to use AMR ambulance for $1 while new unit is built; agreement approved

The board authorized staff July 22 to enter into an emergency vehicle use agreement with AMR to use an ambulance while the county’s new unit is being built. Staff said AMR will provide the ambulance for $1 and the county will add the vehicle to its insurance coverage; when the county no longer needs the vehicle, it will be returned to AMR for $1. The county attorney reviewed the agreement and recommended revisions that AMR accepted, staff reported. Commissioners approved the agreement and authorized the chair and vice chair to sign. Staff noted the agreement was coordinated with the Georgia Association of County Commissioners (ACCG) and with the county’s EMS leadership.
