Hampstead officials say pipeline work expected in August; bids for water treatment plant may slip

"We're very close to breaking ground with pipeline construction," the administrator said, adding crews hope to start tearing up the road in the second week of August and to be finished on that segment before school starts.
Timeline and contracts - Pipeline: the town expects to begin pipeline work in early to mid-August; the zoning administrator said the longest portion of pipeline construction could take up to one year but that he anticipates the Shiloh Road segment will be completed in seven to eight months. - Treatment plant bids: two contracts are planned'one covering North Carroll Farms and Shiloh facilities and a second for the Dairy and Hampstead Valley facilities. Bids were scheduled to be opened on Aug. 4 but staff said the deadline will likely be extended while a large number of bidder questions are answered and addenda are approved by MDE.
Public outreach and other projects - Town hall: staff announced a town hall meeting on July 31 at 6:30 p.m. at Hampstead Town Hall to review the project plan and the two-year construction timeline. - Roberts Field Stormwater Management Pond: staff reported a well-attended town hall on the Roberts Field pond project; county staff (Claire Hurt and Janet from Resource Land Management) are reviewing resident requests and will discuss possible design changes with the project engineer. - Tractor Supply concept plan: the zoning administrator said Tractor Supply expects stormwater concept approval this week and will return in August for Planning Commission consideration.
