He told the council the vehicle suffered “major catastrophic, front end damage, including front axle and brakes,” and noted the department had previously traded one older tender to acquire two 1,500-gallon units and had one other tender with a pump failure.
The repair request was presented as a needed restoration to return the tender to service for fire and water-main response. Councilman Thompson moved to approve the repair request; Councilman Canell seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
