Fannin County to advertise proposed fiscal 2025 millage; commissioners set tentative adoption date and say rate maintains full rollback

The resolution presented to the board indicated a proposed rate moving from 2.465 mills to 2.440 mills — described in the meeting as a full rollback.
A commissioner moved to adopt the resolution to publish and advertise the tentative millage; the motion passed after a second and the board recorded an affirmative vote.
Staff and commissioners noted the advertising and public-notice steps are required by law to give taxpayers an opportunity to review and comment on the tentative tax rate before final adoption. The board’s action at the July 8 meeting authorized the required publication and set the schedule for notice and final consideration on Aug. 26.
