Grey County Fiscal Court approved multiple consent and routine items during the meeting, including acceptance of meeting minutes, the annual jail commissary report, a budget amendment and personnel actions.
The court completed second reading and approval of Budget Amendment 2026-1, which the clerk said primarily restores discretionary and community-veil funds; the motion on second reading was made by Larry Morphew with a second by Dale Devin and the court approved the amendment. The clerk also presented a routine transfer of 2024 delinquent oil and gas bills to the county clerk, which the court approved.
Landon presented the jail commissary report for the year ended June 30; the court moved and seconded to accept the report for the minutes and transmission to the treasurer's office. Personnel actions approved included hiring Paige Brandon as a seasonal golf-course employee at $14.40 per hour and a part-time senior-center hire, Paula Bratcher, in a 14/44-hour level 1 role; roll-call votes were recorded for those hires and the motions carried.
No changes to tax rates were decided; the court noted that discussion of tax rates will occur at the next meeting on Aug. 11 at 3:30 p.m.
