Food services: district approves milk bid and reports no paid-lunch-price increase required

A staff presenter noted the district purchased approximately 155,000 half-pints of chocolate milk for the upcoming cycle.
The district reported completion of the paid-lunch equity tool — a U.S. Department of Agriculture requirement — and said that after last year’s price increases the district does not need to raise paid-lunch prices for the coming year. Staff said the current paid-lunch price (75¢ referenced for a particular item) will remain unchanged under the new tool results.
The board approved the milk bid by voice vote and also approved related food-service procurement items during the meeting.
