Board approves several policy updates and tables family-engagement language for revision

The Eagle School District Board considered and approved a slate of policy updates and tabled one item for further revision.
Board members approved updates to policies covering transition to kindergarten, student conduct (policy 3207), harassment/discrimination (05/2011, updated to reflect federal Title IX reporting language) and policy 6801 (fee thresholds). Staff said several changes came from recent legislation or from WASDA model policy language; one family-engagement policy (policy 4130) contained added yellow-highlighted language that staff said needed insertion and review, so the board agreed to table that item until the revised language could be included and circulated.
On the student conduct policy, staff said the revision removed nonstudent audiences so the policy focuses solely on students and cleaned up language on retaliation and false allegations. On the harassment policy, staff said the update aligned reporting responsibilities with Title IX guidance and clarified which staff serve as compliance coordinators.
Board members moved, seconded and approved the listed policy updates by voice vote, and they agreed to table the family-engagement policy to allow the additional verbiage to be reviewed and included in the public packet before adoption.
