Court dismisses parking citation after registration provided, finds several FTAs and imposes defaults

Lake Forest Park Municipal Court clerks and Judge Jennifer Grant processed a mix of procedural dispositions during the July 23 infraction calendar, including a dismissal for a parking citation after the defendant provided vehicle registration and several findings of failure to appear.
Ahmed Zubair Salahi told the court he had submitted vehicle registration shortly after receiving a parking citation for an unregistered vehicle on a city street; the judge dismissed that violation after clerks confirmed the registration submission was dated 06/22 and noted the citation had been issued a few hours earlier.
Later in the afternoon the judge reviewed a list of docket items with failures to appear, noting mailed notices and the addresses used for service. For multiple cases the court found the defendants had not appeared despite timely mailed notices and entered default findings and penalties. The judge also reviewed specific instances of conflicting docket entries where payments or petitions might have been submitted, and in at least one instance dismissed a case where records showed the issue had been resolved.
Court staff told litigants they would send final notices and orders by mail to the addresses on file and that defendants who believe they received incorrect notices should contact the clerk to request review or to set hearings where allowed.
