Staff explained this was the second or third attempt to lock in a price; parts for the original custom builds were no longer available and the vendor supplied an updated quote with a modest per-unit increase. The updated total difference discussed in the meeting was $1,037.76 for the order as presented.
Board members moved and seconded approval of the revised purchase quote for CTE computers, which will be paid from CTE funds so the classroom technology remains current for software and instruction. The board approved the motion by voice vote.
Staff said the older machines were six or more years old and failing; replacing them maintains software compatibility and program quality for CTE instruction.
