Board approves stadium naming-rights deal; district finalizes demolition and secures grants and donations

The Eagle School District Board approved a 10-year naming-rights agreement for the new Eagle High School stadium and took multiple actions to move stadium demolition and construction forward.
A staff presenter described the naming-rights deal with Arrow Lumber as a 10-year contract that would provide “a thousand dollars a month for 10 years” and signage for the stadium. The board voted to approve the naming-rights contract during the meeting.
Related agenda items addressed the demolition and preparatory work for the stadium. Staff said the demolition bid process used Sourcewell interlocal agreements for much of the project procurement but that surface demolition outside the interlocal scope defaults to board procurement policy (policy 6220) for purchases under $75,000. The board approved the demolition contract award to Gileardi Logging and Construction (motion moved and seconded; voices in favor recorded as “Aye”), and staff noted Waste Connections (also referenced as LRI in discussion) has agreed to haul demolition waste at no cost to the district.
District staff and board members discussed funding sources for stadium and track work. The superintendent’s remarks described a mix of grant awards, state legislative support and local donations that collectively support the stadium and track replacement projects. The superintendent thanked state legislators for assistance and described additional grant applications pending; she cautioned that funds from separate sources must remain in their designated funds and cannot be commingled for operating expenses. She said the stadium order is expected to arrive around November and that heavy machinery could arrive and work begin “in the next very few weeks,” though some final surface work (a final coat for the track) may be weather dependent and could extend into the following year.
Board members and staff clarified that naming-rights revenue and Arrow Lumber signage will be directed to capital projects and maintenance, not to pay instructional staff, and that legal review of naming-rights agreements has been completed.
The board approved the naming-rights agreement and the demolition contract, and staff said they will continue pursuing grant funding and coordination to begin site work soon.
