Glynn County reports police, fire staffing increases; adds motorcycle units

Glynn County Manager Bill Fallon said police staffing has increased to 106 officers and that the county’s fire department is at full staff for the first time in several years.
“We were in the eighties. And in fact, I think in January, we were down to 82 officers. So now we're at 106,” Fallon said on a July episode of Good News Glenn, attributing the rise to recruitment and retention efforts by Police Chief Ebner. Fallon added the county added “the 2 motorcycle units so people can see those out on the road, the 2 Harleys.”
Fallon credited Fire Chief DeCristofalo for bringing the fire department to full staffing through recruitment and retention work. He did not announce any formal hiring motion or collective-bargaining change on the broadcast.
No specific overtime, budget line items, civil-service rules or dates for future recruitment drives were presented on the program. Fallon suggested the changes reflect ongoing county staffing priorities and said the county is “getting up there” in authorized positions.
Residents with questions about staffing or public‑safety deployments were not given additional budget documents on-air; Fallon encouraged the public to check county postings and reach out to county staff for details.
