The city planning commission recommended approval of two rezoning requests and forwarded them to city council for final readings.
The first rezoning, requested by Sydney Turnage, would change about 1.13 acres at 1661 Southeast Taterpillar Road from Rural Residential Agricultural to Light Industrial in Ward 3. Staff said the property is designated Light Industrial on the city—s future land use plan and recommended approval; the expected city council readings for the ordinance were listed as first reading and public hearing on Sept. 2 and second reading on Sept. 16.
The second rezoning, requested by Lee Clark, sought to change about 5 acres at 2898 Hickory Ridge Road from Rural Residential Agricultural to RS-9 in Ward 4. Staff said the future land use plan supports the request (residential at four units per acre), recommended approval, and the commission voted to forward a positive recommendation to council.
Both items were recommended to city council by unanimous voice votes in the commission; staff reported no outstanding comments at the close of the hearing on the Lee Clark item.
