Board approves roofing and bond allowance authorizations, transportation center nearing move‑in

PASADENA, Texas — The Pasadena Independent School District board on July 22 approved several construction and procurement actions, including a commercial roofing contract and multiple allowance expenditure authorizations tied to bond projects.

Trustees approved a construction contract with ARGIO Roofing and Construction LLC for portable building re‑roofing work in the amount of $655,070.04 to cover 85 districtwide portable roofs. The board also approved allowance expenditure authorizations (AEAs) tied to 2017 and 2022 bond projects, including credit and expenditure adjustments for New Bailey Elementary, the transportation center replacement project and New Parks Elementary replacement work. One AEA listed a credit amount of $455 and another listed a credit amount of $10,009 for the transportation center project; a large AEA for New Parks Elementary was approved in the amount of $2,215,758, and a smaller AEA for New Parks of $158,571 was approved as well. An AEA of $55,412.35 was approved for Frasier Elementary roof replacement under the 2022 bond roof package 3.

During the construction discussion, staff informed the board that transportation staff were expected to move into the newly completed transportation facility this week. Board members and staff praised the project team and said they would schedule a facilities tour when temperatures allow.

Action: motions to approve the roofing contract and the listed AEAs were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition. The board asked for follow‑up tours and continued reporting as projects proceed to closeout.

Financial note: staff said final expenses as of June 30 will be provided following completion of the year‑end audit; trustees passed a July budget amendment as part of the financial consent items during the meeting.
