Provo council approves multiple board and commission appointments, 7-0

Provo City’s municipal council voted unanimously July 22 to confirm a slate of appointments and reappointments to city boards and commissions recommended by the mayor.
Mayor Michelle Caffousey presented multiple appointments and reappointments with terms generally ending June 30, 2027–2028. The slate included the reappointment of Jeff DeMille to the Airport Board and appointments to the Transportation and Mobility Advisory Committee, library board, planning commission and arts council. The mayor described experience and backgrounds for several nominees, saying, for example, that Matthew Willwright is a home builder and construction-management instructor recommended to fill a planning commission seat and that Joel Temple holds a master’s in urban and regional planning.
The council called the question and recorded a unanimous vote. Council members present and recorded in the vote included Councilor McKay, Councilor Christianson, Councilor Hanley, Councilor Bogdan, Councilor Whipple, Councilor Garrett and Councilor Hogan; the mayor asked the council for advice and consent and the resolution passed 7–0.
The confirmed appointments begin new three-year or two-year terms as listed by the mayor and will fill seats vacated at the turnover date of July 1.
