The Community Relations Committee voted to forward a resolution appointing Dr. Day Bryant to a one-year term on the City’s Community Police Review Board.

Chair Gooden Rogers introduced Bill 25-31 and explained the committee has been working to fill vacancies on the Community Police Review Board. A presenter told the committee that Dr. Day Bryant was nominated by Dr. Davis and had accepted the appointment and associated training commitment.

There were no public speakers either in favor or opposition during the committee’s public comment period. A motion to send Bill 25-31 to the Committee of the Whole with a favorable recommendation carried on a roll-call vote: Committee Member Nezgalski (aye), Committee Member Bolden Simpson (aye), Committee Vice Chair White (aye) and Committee Chair Gooden Rogers (aye). The clerk recorded four ayes.

The committee concluded its business after the vote. The appointment will be placed on the council calendar for formal action by the full council.
