MUNCIE โ The Muncie Board of Public Works and Safety approved a bid award on June 6 for construction of two park restrooms and associated site work, accepting US Architects' recommendation to award the contract to Monroe Construction of Kokomo, Indiana, at $342,837.
Keith Gary, an architect with US Architects, told the board four bids were received and that the top two bids were within about $3,000 of each other. "Monroe Construction appeared to be the lowest and most qualified at, 342,837 for both buildings and site work," Gary said. The board moved to approve the recommended bidder and the motion carried.
Gary said he had spoken with Chris Monroe several times and that addenda had been distributed to bidders. The board did not discuss financing sources or a construction schedule at the meeting; Adam, a city representative noted in the record, was not present.
