Muncie board approves $2.07 million in claims, includes $365,383 payment for Fire Station 6 work

MUNCIE — The Muncie Board of Public Works and Safety approved $2,069,185 in claims at its June 6 meeting, including a $365,383.53 payment tied to construction work at Fire Station Number 6. City Controller Craig Wright described the larger invoice as “a rather large claim for $365,383.53. That was for the work being done at Fire Station Number 6.”
The register of claims also included routine utilities, several EFTs and final payments for Prairie Creek fireworks, Wright said. A board member moved to approve the claims and the motion carried with the board voting in favor.
Board members did not request further information during the public meeting and no follow-up items were assigned. The approval clears payments on the current register; the board did not discuss future appropriations or financing at the session.
