The Board of Sanitary Commissioners on July 9 accepted a quote of $36,500 from Robinson Pipe Cleaning to line a sewer that runs down the middle of Bill Street as part of the Village South project; the developer agreed to pay half the cost after the work is complete.
District Engineer John Anderson said the Village South project (Dill Street between North Street and Gilbert) is progressing and the developer had solicited lining quotes. Anderson said the district received an earlier quote of $70,000 but the developer-provided Robinson quote was $36,500; the developer agreed with District Administrator Rick Conrad to pay 50% of that $36,500 after project completion. "We opened our quotes back on May 14, and we're we had received 1 quote prior to the meeting, came in at $70,000 Robinson pipe cleaning was a quote that, the developer provided to us and their cost was 36,500," Anderson said.
Anderson told the board Robinson updated its quote after the district raised questions about the initial submission and that the revised $36,500 quote reflects those clarifications. The board moved to accept the bid; the motion passed on an affirmative voice vote with no recorded opposition. The transcript records the developer will pay half the cost after the project finishes; the board did not record additional contract terms at the meeting.
