Commission discusses Meadowood site visit and notes August application expected

Commissioners reviewed a July 1 site visit to the Meadowood property and discussed follow-up inspections and an application expected at the commission’s August meeting.

Chairwoman and staff said the town owns a larger Meadowood parcel and holds rights to use roughly 24 acres of that site. Commissioners noted a sandy area visible from County Line Road and agreed that a closer inspection by two or three members, accompanied by staff, would be appropriate for a pending application. Britney offered to place Doug Beach’s map for the site on the commission Dropbox and to coordinate visits. "I can put that on Dropbox," Britney said, referencing maps provided by Doug Beach.

Commissioners also anticipated an application coming before the agency in August — one commissioner asked specifically whether a proposed soccer field would come before the commission; staff indicated it likely would, because the project is in the Upland Review Area. The conversation included scheduling logistics (site visits by fewer than four members to avoid a quorum) and practical steps to orient commissioners to the town parcel. No formal action or vote was taken during the meeting.
