Race organizers have reduced age divisions from 12 to eight to align with other local races, a staff member said during the advisory group meeting. The changes move categories to decade groupings (for example, 30s, 40s, 50s) rather than the prior 12-division structure.
The staff member provided registration and pricing information: registration is online via the city website or a Facebook event page with a link; in-person registration is available at the parks office at 294 Sand Veil Road. “Online, we've got some posters around city buildings with a QR code that you could scan on your phone or you can go to lavernetn.gov and register. There's also a link on our Facebook event page that will take you to the registration as well. Office at 294 Sand Veil Road, and we do in person registrations,” the staff member said.
On timing and fees, the presentation said early pricing changes by date: “So up until August 8, it goes up to $35 up till August 21, and then it is $40 on race day,” according to the briefing. The race starts at 8 a.m.; check-in begins at 6:30 a.m., the staff member said. The speaker noted the event is open to runners and walkers, including people who bring strollers.
No formal action was taken. The advisory group exchanged lighthearted comments about starting traditions (a wolf howl) and personal anecdotes about past race placements; these remarks were part of general discussion and not official policy.
The group did not provide a final registration tally beyond noting 30 registered at the time of the briefing.
