Warren City Council on July 21 approved a five‑year renewal for street maintenance services covering salt and winter operations, scheduled to run through 2029, with projected compensation rising 3% annually and totaling $278,737.55 over five years.

City staff said the agreement reflects a $24,754 increase over the prior five‑year contract and described the contract as the successor to a 2020 agreement. Council asked about the adequacy of the 3% annual adjustment to cover rising costs in severe winters; staff noted that severe winter seasons can trigger additional expenditures but did not change the proposed escalation.

A motion to approve the contract passed on a unanimous roll call. Staff said the contract remains consistent with prior responsibility provisions and will be managed by the Department of Public Works.
