The Warren Redevelopment Authority told council on July 21 that its request for proposals for redevelopment of 231–237 Pennsylvania Avenue West drew no responses by the June 30 deadline and will be reposted through PenBid beginning July 15 and remaining open through Dec. 31, 2025.
RDA staff said the PenBid platform expands outreach to developers; the new posting is linked from the city website and promoted via social media and a banner on the property.
The RDA also reported it was awarded $100,000 in Main Street Matters facade grant funding. Under program rules, commercial properties in the C1 and C2 zoning districts may apply for up to $10,000 per property with a dollar‑for‑dollar match. The RDA reported at least 15 letters of intent have been received and design committee review is scheduled for July 29; with $10,000 maximum awards, the RDA expects at least 10 properties to receive funding.
Council members noted the facade program’s track record and said the reimbursement model allows grant funds to be recycled for future rounds. No council action was required beyond receiving the update.
