Staff said nine to ten parties initially expressed interest, seven contractors performed site inspections, and three bids were submitted on the same specification package. One bidder proposed a larger unit that required an additional concrete pad and therefore had a higher price.
A motion by Mr. Ritchie, seconded by Mr. Dorsey, to recommend Hoffman Heating and Cooling be awarded the contract at $43,850 carried by voice vote.
No other action related to the HVAC item was taken at the meeting; staff will forward the board recommendation to the City Council for final award and contracting as required.
