The Century Unified School District Board on July 22 approved additional work related to the Steinbeck school kindergarten playground replacement. Staff said Phase 2 required resubmission to the Division of the State Architect (DSA) because of required changes; the district described the additional work as resulting from DSA modifications. A board member asked how much of the estimated total project cost was for the additional work versus previously approved amounts; staff said they would follow up with a breakdown of the additional costs and noted the total estimated project cost at the time of discussion was $174,566.29, but did not specify how much of that figure represented new, additional work.
Trustee Kirk moved to approve the additional work; Trustee Kerfon seconded and the motion carried 6-0. The district will report back with specific cost allocation between prior approvals and the newly required Phase 2 work.
